Surrounding Area
Surrounding the City of Ely is Morse Township. Located just three miles east is the City of Winton, and about 15 miles to the south is the City of Babbitt.
Each of these communities have joined with the City of Ely, its two schools and hospital to create the Community Economic Development Joint Powers Board for the purpose of developing the area economically.
Each community has a rich history and individual personality. Only Babbitt has its own schools, the other communities share the Ely schools.
