Four cities working together to attract a large business to northeastern Minnesota have selected a new name for their collaborative working group. The cities of Tower, Babbitt, Ely and Cook, originally formed as the Highway 1 Economic Development Working Group, have changed to name of the group to The Business Edge Corridor (TBEC) reflecting the first initial of the name of each community.
The working group formed to develop a targeted marketing plan to promote a $4 million area business incentive that was the result of the 2006 Minnesota legislative session. The group is seeking businesses interested in bringing at least 200 new jobs to the area. Interested parties may call 218.365.3012 or 218.666.2200.
