Ely, Minnesota, April 26, 2010 -- All Ely area businesses are invited to learn how to better reach their customers using information obtained from the Ely Market Area Profile. The University of Minnesota Extension created the Market Area Profile (MAP) to assist Minnesota communities to develop their retail and service sectors.
The Ely Area Development Association is sponsoring the workshop to help local Ely businesses understand details of the MAP and learn more about the Ely business markets: local, seasonal and tourist. Various scenarios of how local businesses might get the most bang for their buck when trying to reach those markets will be covered as we look at all types of media, including newspapers, radio, television and the internet social media.
Participants will engage in hands-on activities that take the information from the report and apply it to real life business possibilities. The intent of the MAP is for existing businesses, potential businesses, and economic development organizations to use the information to develop individual business and main street strategies.
The workshop is offered at no cost to all interested businesses on May 5 at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. It will be held at the Ely Economic and Technology Center located in the Queen City Federal Bank building at 102 East Sheridan Street in Ely. Call the Ely Area Development Association at 218-365-3012 to register or for more information.
